As scenes from Scranton’s Dunder Mifflin office play on the screens, it’s guaranteed to have you in stitches, even if you are watching it for the nth time. Set in the late 19th century, Anne with an E is a beautiful yet heartbreaking journey of a young, imaginative and strong-willed orphan girl Anne, who is mistakenly sent to live with aging siblings. Prejudice, hunger, verbal abuse and bullying are some of the many historically accurate topics tackled by the series we rarely see in period dramas. As the story unfolds, it indirectly reveals the gritty truth about the world we live in now. Here things aren’t always perfect, but just like Anne Shirley; we can sure try to make them be.
